Promoting Human Dignity

A B Charitable Trust promotes human dignity and defends the human rights of marginalised and excluded people.

Our priority areas:

The human rights framework

Upholding, enhancing and defending the human rights framework in the UK, and holding the government to account on human rights protections.

Access to Justice

Ensuring the UK has a fair and functioning justice system, where everyone has access to high quality legal advice, so they can realise their rights.

The Criminal Legal System and Penal Reform

Creating an equitable system, which considers individual needs and potential, places a focus on harm prevention, and prioritises holistic support and rehabilitation.

Migrants and Refugees

A fair immigration system in which people who migrate to the UK, are refugees or seeking asylum are welcomed, treated with dignity, and supported to maximise their potential.

Our funding streams

We don’t support individuals directly – instead, we pursue our purpose by funding partner organisations and initiatives. We have three grant-making programmes.

Open Programme

(by application)

This programme aims to support and strengthen small to medium sized charities, and the wider ‘eco-system’, in our priority areas.

Special Initiatives

(by invitation)

Working with others, this programme aims to identify and address gaps and opportunities in our priority areas.

Anchor Programme

(by invitation)

This programme aims to support specialist infrastructure organisations that are indispensable to their sector.
