Promoting Human Dignity

A B Charitable Trust promotes human dignity and defends the human rights of marginalised and excluded people.

Our three priority areas:

Migrants and refugees

Helping migrants, refugees and people seeking asylum to be welcomed, treated lawfully and fairly, and enabled to maximise their potential living and working in the UK.

Criminal justice and penal reform

Creating a fair and just criminal justice system, with a significantly reduced prison population, which considers individual needs and potential, and places a focus on prevention and rehabilitation.

Human rights, particularly access to justice

Ensuring everyone in the UK, regardless of income or geographical location, has access to high quality legal advice, so they can realise their rights as they are entitled to do.

Our funding programmes

We don’t reach people in need directly – instead, we pursue our purpose by funding partner organisations. We have three grant-making programmes.

The Open Programme

(by application)

This programme aims to support and strengthen small to medium sized charities, and the wider ‘eco-system’, in our three priority areas.

Special Initiatives

(by invitation)

This programme aims to identify and address gaps and opportunities in our three priority areas.

The Anchor Programme

(by invitation)

This programme aims to provide core support to organisations that are indispensable to their sector.
